School Rezoning
As new schools are built, a working group made up of parents, community partners, district administrators, and school leaders considers changes in attendance boundaries to even out the student population.
For instance, before Mary E. Britton Middle School's opening in August 2025, Davis Demographics helped the rezoning team devise scenarios to recommend for boundary realignment. Many facets were discussed, and the school board voted on a recommended plan.
FCPS staff communicates directly with families affected by possible zoning changes. Please direct any questions to the rezoning team.
