Families must reapply each year for free/reduced student meals in Fayette County Public Schools, and the Meals Assistance Application for 2025-26 opens Monday, July 21. Eligibility depends on household income. Students who don’t qualify will pay full price for breakfast and lunch.
Some students will be automatically approved for meals assistance through direct certification (SNAP, KTAP, certain Medicaid programs, or foster care). Households should start receiving these notification letters in the mail within the next week. Students listed on these letters do not need to complete the Meal Assistance Application or the Educational Benefits Form; please read the letter carefully for details and next steps.
Note that all students attending a school under the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) will automatically receive meals at no cost. However, it is still important for those families to complete an Educational Benefits Form to receive other services associated with student free/reduced data.
