The Fayette County Board of Education will welcome two new members in January 2025 after nonpartisan elections on Nov. 5. Monica Mundy (District 1) defeated board member Marilyn Clark, and Penny Christian (District 3) won a three-way race to succeed appointed board member Jason Moore, who chose not to run. Vice Chair Amy Green (District 5) retained her board seat for another four-year term.
The terms of Chair Tyler Murphy (District 2) and board member Amanda Ferguson (District 4) expire at the end of 2026.
School board districts are for voting purposes only. Collectively, the Board of Education represents the entirety of Fayette County Public Schools and determines districtwide policies, priorities, direction, and spending. Read more online about our current board members.
