Sixteen public high school students, including two from Fayette County, have been named to the 2026-27 Commissioner’s Student Advisory Council, joining nine returning members. Congratulations to Saachi Thomas, a rising junior at Paul Laurence High, and Ezra Anglin, a sophomore at Lafayette High, on their selection. Also serving again this year is Tejas Basneth, a senior at Dunbar.
The council connects Kentucky teenagers with Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) staff to develop ideas to strengthen student voice and transform education. The students also meet regularly with Commissioner of Education Robbie Fletcher, both in person and virtually.
