Rezoning Community Forum Set for June 13

Our district’s school rezoning team will host a community forum at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, June 13, in the auditorium at Frederick Douglass High School. This is an opportunity to hear the recommendations and ask questions about the proposed scenarios involving the addition of Mary E. Britton Middle School, which is slated to open in fall 2025. The public may attend in person or follow along on our FCPS YouTube channel.

As new schools are built, the working group made up of parents, community partners, district administrators, and school leaders considers changes in attendance boundaries to even out the student population. Davis Demographics helped our rezoning team devise several scenarios, and the school board will vote on the team’s recommendation this August.
