Pianists Excel in 2026 Patch Competition

Several students from Fayette County Public Schools excelled in the 2026 Nathaniel Patch Piano Competition, which was the 25th edition. Thirty students from throughout Kentucky, Indiana, and Ohio participated May 2 at the University of Kentucky’s Singletary Center for the Arts. Congratulations to all our young pianists!

Elementary A Division (PreK-3)

• Runner-up: Skyler Yan of Rosa Parks Elementary

Elementary B Division (Grades 4-5)

• Winner: Edwin Hon of SCAPA at Bluegrass 
• Third place: Seraphina Huffman of SCAPA

Middle School Division

• Runner-up: Noor Badin of SCAPA

High School Division

• Honorable mentions: Jake He and Mei Wu, both of Paul Laurence Dunbar
