Nominations Open for 2025-26 Equity Champion Award

The school board’s Equity Council Committee (ECC) is accepting nominations for the 2025-26 PG Peeples Equity Champion Award. This annual honor goes to a Lexington community member who advocates for equitable opportunities for students and families and has exhibited outstanding dedication and service to our Fayette County Public Schools community.

The award is named for Porter “PG” Peeples, a founding member of the ECC, who has served Lexington as a civil servant and pillar of the community for over 50 years. The ECC, a standing committee of the Fayette County Board of Education, functions as the equity conscience of our community.

The deadline is Tuesday, Jan. 20, and the winner will be announced Tuesday, Feb. 3.
