Nearly 20 in FCPS on List of America’s Healthiest Schools

Alliance for a Healthier Generation has announced its annual list of America’s Healthiest Schools, recognizing nearly 1,400 campuses for their commitment to fostering a healthy and supportive environment for students, staff, and families. The 2026 list includes 142 awardees in Kentucky with nearly 20 in Fayette County Public Schools (FCPS).

“I am super excited. Last year, we had eight schools and this year 17!” said Angela Stark, a healthy schools specialist in FCPS. 

The national program salutes schools for using best practices in various areas. Deep Springs Elementary and Leestown Middle School earned kudos in five categories, and Sandersville Elementary in four areas. Congratulations to all!
