Kentucky Celebrates Family Engagement in Education Week

The Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence kicked off Family Engagement in Education Week at the Capitol Rotunda by saluting over four dozen Family Friendly Certified Schools, including Breckinridge Elementary, Brenda Cowan Elementary, SCAPA at Bluegrass, and Lafayette High School. Schools that attain this certification pledge to actively engage families as crucial participants in their children’s education, and the Kentucky Department of Education includes the designation on their School Report Card.

Monday’s launch also featured a proclamation issued by the Governor’s Office highlighting the importance of collaborative family-school partnerships. This week is packed with opportunities that support student success and community involvement:
