Dunbar Takes Top Spot in 2025 JV Challenge

In the 2025 Junior Varsity Challenge, an academic team from Paul Laurence Dunbar High School took first place overall in the Section 7 grouping, and Henry Clay High was runner-up. In the Section 8 field, Lafayette High placed third.

The JV Challenge is designed for Kentucky’s freshmen and sophomores, who sometimes are “lost” between the middle grades (6-8) and high school (9-12) in Governor’s Cup Competition. Schools compete in geographic sections of up to eight teams each, coordinated by the Kentucky Association for Academic Competition.
