Dunbar Places 3rd in State Theatre Festival

Paul Laurence Dunbar High School took third place in the Kentucky Theatre Association’s 2024 high school festival with their production of "Rose and Rime." The Dunbar troupe also earned honors for Outstanding Production Design, and Rivers Jones was tapped for the all-star cast. The statewide conference was Nov. 15-16 at the University of Louisville. In an earlier contest, Dunbar placed first in the Central Region to qualify for state.

In a separate competition this fall, Dunbar was runner-up in Chapter Select at the Kentucky Thespian Festival. Nadya Shliakhau earned All-Star Thespian recognition, while LJ McMahon and Ayat Gondal received superior ratings for their monologues.
