Douglass Boys’ Golf Team is Runner-Up in Region 9

The boys’ golf team from Frederick Douglass High School will play in the 2025 KHSAA state tournament after its runner-up finish in Region 9. In the individual standings, the Broncos’ Ashton Gordon and Paul Laurence Dunbar’s Winston Zhuang were in a three-way tie for third place with a 71. Winston, Henry Clay’s Carson Nicholas, and Lafayette’s Clay Noble were among the individual state qualifiers.

In the girls’ Region 9 tournament, where Douglass placed fifth, the Broncos’ Willa Borough, Izzy Newland, and Candice Tanmas qualified for state.
