At its Nov. 10 planning session, the Fayette County Board of Education heard about the exciting collaboration between Lexington-based Valvoline Global and The Hub for Innovative Learning & Leadership (The HILL), where some students are preparing to be automotive mechanics. "This is a great place to get career-ready," said sophomore Marciana Kates.
The board also heard a proposal for a Board Finance & Accountability Committee (BFAC) to replace the current Budget & Finance Committee. The new structure would revise the size and make-up of the panel, and it would include public monthly meetings and quarterly reports.
