Seal of Biliteracy
In 2017, the Fayette County Board of Education adopted the Seal of Biliteracy to recognize graduating seniors who can demonstrate a high level of proficiency in English and one or more world languages. This initiative supports the district’s commitment to preparing students to excel in a global society. Qualifying graduates receive the Seal of Biliteracy emblem on their diploma and a notation on their transcript as official acknowledgement of their language skills and proof to share with colleges, universities, and potential employers. To date, FCPS has 940 recipients representing 37 world languages!
