The Advanced Placement (AP) curriculum, developed by the College Board in partnership with university professors, culminates in a qualifying exam. More than 40 AP course subjects are available through the College Board, and over 30 AP course subjects are taught throughout Fayette County Public Schools. AP courses are considered college-equivalent, and scores on the exams given in the spring might be accepted at many colleges and universities for college credit. Each college/university (and sometimes colleges within a university) establishes its own policy about qualifying exam scores. For details about a specific college dual-credit policy, students and families should reference AP Credit Policy Search or contact the college directly.
AP course offering varies by school, so check with your school counselor or college and career coach for the latest information.
