WBL = Work-Based Learning

Businesses are integral in the foundation of successful work-based learning in our schools. By partnering with FCPS, businesses can provide input on their labor needs, which allows our teachers to create curriculum and develop skills in students to ultimately fill those jobs. 

Opportunities for business leaders range from mentoring students, visiting schools as a guest speaker, and welcoming classes for a business site visit, to hosting students in job shadowing, conducting mock interviews, and creating internships and co-op positions to help develop our students' potential.

Businesses can also enhance our FCPS staff. Teacher externships are a great way to expose educators to contemporary work environments and potential careers for their students. Impacting one teacher allows a business to reach many more students each year!
