Our FCPS school libraries serve as the hub of their school community and are integral to teaching and learning. Across the district, libraries provide access to a full range of print and digital resources for our PreK-12 students to support research, inquiry, and recreational reading.
Library programs are dynamic and welcoming spaces that allow our students to imagine, discover, and connect. Through specific library programs or collaboration with classroom teachers, our librarians focus on integrating collaboration, critical thinking, innovation, creativity, and digital literacy with content area standards. In addition, monthly meetings give our librarians opportunities to gather, collaborate, learn, share, and grow.
The FCPS Technology Department provides instructional support for our school libraries, and the Library & Instructional Resources Department (LIR) provides central cataloging and library software support.
