College Awareness Program

Our college awareness program (CAP) features activities for the whole family. Both these series meet on Thursday evenings from Feb. 15 through March 28.

The Latino Family Literacy Project: 'Family Stories'

book cover of "Graciela's Dream'

Using the book “Graciela’s Dream,” we explore themes around college preparedness through a reading group, chats with academic professionals, and conversations with other families.

  • Learn what it takes to prepare for college.
  • Familiarize yourself with the application processes for college entrance and financial aid.
  • Receive information from college counselors.
  • Participate in a free campus tour at a local college.

This series is geared toward middle school students (grades 6-8) and their families. Parents/guardians of high school students are also welcome.
