Note: Expect noisy construction activity between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends. Also, be aware of road shutdowns on Indiana Avenue and Midland Avenue.
Two of our Career Technical Education (CTE) centers will merge at 100 Midland Ave. in downtown Lexington and be ready for classes in August 2025. Eastside and Southside have housed CTE programs since the 1970s. This merger will give us space to increase our enrollment as we develop hybrid programs and a skilled workforce to meet industry demands in our community.
The programs include Engineering Technology, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Medical Sciences, Transportation Technology, and Pre-Nursing. Spaces in the former Herald-Leader building, which Fayette County Public Schools is renovating, include administration areas on each floor for easier student support, labs and classrooms, and collaborative breakout areas. The renovated building will also feature energy-efficient designs, which are a priority for our district.
