Session 1: Grades K-8
The organizers decide who participates based on the family interest survey (emailed in mid-March) and discussion with school leaders. Priority goes to students who need extra classroom time to get ready for the 2024-25 school year. This might include children who have not mastered reading or math for their grade level.
Focus areas include kindergarten readiness for preschoolers and extra support in reading and math for grades K-8. The program also offers social-emotional learning lessons as well as fine arts and STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) activities.
In a hub model, seven campuses host students from across the district. Placement is based on the family's home address.
