Summer Ignite
Summer Ignite 2023 will provide rigorous and engaging learning opportunities for our students! The goal is to help them make progress toward key academic standards in preparation for the next school year. Lessons will also cover physical and social-emotional health.
Session 1
In a hub model, 14 campuses* will host students for summer learning, though students from any elementary or middle school will be considered for participation. Focus areas will include kindergarten readiness for preschoolers and extra support in reading and math for grades K-8. Programming will also include social and emotional learning lessons as well as fine arts and STEM enrichment activities.
Dates: June 12-29, Monday through Thursday for both weeks, excluding the Juneteenth holiday (June 19). Breakfast and lunch are provided.
- Elementary hours: 8 a.m. to noon
- Middle school hours: 8:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
The organizers will decide who participates based on the spring's family interest survey and discussion with leaders at your child's school. First priority goes to students who need extra classroom time to get ready for the 2023-24 school year. This might include children who have not mastered reading or math for their grade level.

This session will focus on highly engaging activities to foster inclusion and belonging of transition-grade students and will include the Brigance testing window for children starting kindergarten in 2023-24.
Dates: July 31 through Aug. 3
All campuses will host their transition-grade students. Breakfast and lunch are provided. Please watch your email for specifics from your child's school.
