The primary purpose of a Kentucky Family Resource and Youth Services Center (FRYSC) is to remove non-academic barriers to learning. By addressing these barriers, the centers aim to enhance a student's ability to succeed academically.
Established as a component of the Kentucky Education Reform Act (KERA) of 1990, these school-based centers connect students and their families to needed services and resources. FRYSCs are a partnership between education and human services, focusing on early intervention and prevention.
