June: PTSD Awareness Month

According to the National Library of Medicine, about two-thirds of youth are exposed to trauma by late adolescence, and some develop post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) as a result. Triggering events include:

  • Abuse
  • Violence
  • Natural or man-made disasters
  • Vehicle accidents
  • Learning about trauma to someone close to you
