This collection of online resources aims to serve as a one-stop shop for your family with assistance from Fayette County Public Schools, the state of Kentucky, and beyond.

June: PTSD Awareness Month

According to the National Library of Medicine, “Approximately two-thirds of youth are exposed to trauma by late adolescence, and some develop PTSD as a result.” Events that may cause post-traumatic stree syndrome to develop include:

  • Abuse
  • Violence
  • Natural or man-made disasters
  • Vehicle accidents
  • Learning about the traumatic events happening to someone close to them
