Step 1: Sign Up Bus Riders

Families must inform FCPS if their child(ren) will ride a bus to school because the district now assigns routes to registered riders.

Before Aug. 3, please proceed with these steps to update student records so that Transportation staff can prepare routes for the 2025-26 school year.

Log in to Campus Parent*

  1. Click "Online Registration" on the bottom right side.
  2. Click "Start" under Annual Update / New Student Registration.
  3. On the next screen, verify that your student(s) information is listed correctly and then click "Begin Registration." Choose yes/no on whether the student needs to ride a bus to school.
  4. Move through the steps to complete and submit the form.

For assistance, call (859) 422-2140.

* If you do not have an Infinite Campus account or you need a username reminder or a password reset, please visit Campus Parent Support

After Aug. 4: Please see your school's registrar for assistance signing up or for answers to related questions.

FAQ

What if my child just shows up at a bus stop?

If an unregistered student turns up at a bus stop in the morning, they are permitted to board the bus and ride to school. However, since bus stops and routes are changing, the student should confirm with the driver that the bus is going to the school they need to get to.

What if my child only rides the bus home from school occasionally?

For the occasional afternoon rider, a bus pass from the school office will still authorize a student on a specific bus to go to a specific stop for that specific day or period of time.

Step 2: Join the New Portal

After you have completed student data updates through Campus Parent, you can use our new school bus portal, which gives you direct access to your child's details.

Video Instructions

Go to school Bus Portal

  1. Click “Create Account”
  2. Follow the prompts on the next screen and submit via the button in the bottom left corner.
  3. Watch for an email from FCPS Transportation and follow the steps to confirm your correct email address.
  4. A window should open stating that your account has been successfully verified and activated.
  5. Return to the School Bus Portal.
  6. Sign in to access the bus stop and bus route information for your family.

For questions or assistance, please contact your child's school.

Note: Bus routes are subject to change anytime, especially during the early weeks of a new school year.  You will receive an email if a transportation change affects your student -- provided that your child is registered as a bus rider.

FCPS provides safe and efficient student transportation from home to school and back, and for activity trips.
We emphasize coordination among our drivers and bus monitors, along with behind-the-scenes work of training, routing, mechanical, and safety specialists. Our bus drivers receive extensive training, their records are thoroughly checked, and all applicants are tested for drugs and alcohol use.
