Importance of Attendance

Good school attendance means elementary students read well by the end of third grade, middle schoolers pass important courses, high schoolers stay on track for graduation, and college students earn their degrees. Overall, regular class attendance is crucial for your child to get the most out of school and establish good lifelong habits!

Work with your school's attendance counselor to understand the options when your child must miss school.
Make sure you understand the terminology such as tardy, absent, and chronic absenteeism.
Connect with your Family Resource Center or Youth Services Center for relevant programs and resources.
