Degrees and Certifications:
I am in my third year as a Math Interventionist here at Coventry Oak Elementary. I possess a Bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University and a Master’s degree from Eastern Kentucky University. Both degrees are in the field of Elementary Education. This is my 31st year in Education.
Prior to coming to COE, my teaching experience consisted of 9 years as a kindergarten teacher, 3 years as a first grade teacher, 6 years as a one-on-one educational therapist for students in kindergarten through 6th grade, and 10 years as a 7th grade pre-algebra teacher. Teaching students strategies and seeing their eyes light up when it all makes sense brings me a lot of joy.
My husband and I have been married 29 years and we have two grown children, Mark and Kristen. Mark lives in Lexington and works for a software company. Kristen just moved to the state of Washington to attend Massage Therapy School.
Oil painting is my favorite thing to do when I have some free time. I oil paint at Plymale Art Gallery in Victorian Square during the summer months. In addition to oil painting, I enjoy walking, scrapbooking, putting puzzles together, and spending time with family and friends.
I am looking forward to another great year with the Coventry Oak family!
