I am excited to be again be serving as the Read to Achieve teacher and Title I representative for Garden Springs Elementary.  This is my 2nd year at the school and I absolutely love the students and staff.  Serving as the RTA teacher, I work with reading intervention students in Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades.  I teach Reading Recovery for 1st graders and use the Leveled Literacy Instrution framework for small groups of students.

In my 10 years of teaching, I have taught reading intervention for 6 years and I can honestly say that my true passion in education is teaching children to read and write.  I previously taught grades K-3 as a classroom teacher. I have a bachelors degree in Elementary Education and a masters degree as a Reading/Writing Specialist.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two beautiful daughters, Piper and Parker.  I like watching movies, doing crafts/projects, and singing.  We attend Crossroads Church where I sing about once a month. 

This is a special year for me because my daughter is attending Kindergarten at GSE!
