CONGRATULATIONS LHS DIVE TEAM: Congratulations to the Lafayette dive team on their first meet of the 2019-2020 season! Junior Jonah Dunn won the men's side and senior Grace Cordle placed 5th for the women. Lafayette won the invitational on the men's side and combined the men and women got 3rd place overall. Go Generals!
CONGRATULATIONS LHS WRESTLING: The Lafayette wrestling team did well this weekend at their two matches. The B team went 2 of 3 in a tough dual tournament at Scott Co. The A team took 3rd place at Walton Verona in a very tough tournament. Congratulations to all wrestlers on a job well done!
SIGN LANGUAGE CLUB MEETING: Everyone is welcome to attend the American Sign Language Club meeting today at 3:30 in room 130. This is our last meeting before winter break.

NO WEDNESDAY ENGLISH ESS: There will be no English ESS on Wednesday, December 11th. Wednesday English ESS will resume next semester!
MOCK TRIAL TEAM INFO MEETING: The Lafayette Mock Trial team info meeting this Wednesday has been canceled. We will have an information meeting AFTER Winter Break for all interested students!
ALIVE AT 25: The next Alive at 25 class will be held at Lafayette on Wednesday, December 11th from 4:30 to 8:30 PM in Room 106. To register for the class, go to www.kentuckysafedriver.com. This is the FREE 4-hour required defensive driving program for your graduated license. The next dates for the class will be Tuesday, January 28th and Wednesday, February 26th.
ENVIRONMENTAL CLUB: The Environmental Club will have a meeting this Thursday, December 12th from 3:30-4:30 in room 211. We will be helping the Outdoors Club make tiles for their garden!
SOPHOMORE HOLIDAY PARTY: Attention Sophomores! The sophomore Executive Board has planned a FREE holiday party in Room 102 after school this Friday, December 13th. Come enjoy hot cocoa, cookies, snacks, and watch the movie Elf!
LIBRARY BOOK FINE FORGIVENESS: The Lafayette Library is offering Book Fine Forgiveness from now until Winter Break. To have your book fine forgiven, bring in any overdue book between now and December 20th to have your fine waived. If you have an older fine, stop by the Library and say something nice to get your fine deleted.
YOUTH AMBASSADOR LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE: Congressman Andy Barr is inviting you to apply for his office’s Youth Ambassador Leadership Conference. This is a non-partisan, educational experience designed for juniors and seniors to learn about leadership while serving as ambassadors to their school. The applications are in the counseling office. The deadline is January 13, 2020.
JOSTENS: Seniors, Jostens will be here next semester to start delivering ordered items and take cap & gown orders on Wednesday, January 15 during all lunches!
GOVERNOR’S SCHOOL FOR ENTREPRENEURS APPLICATONS OPEN: The Governor’s School for Entrepreneurs (GSE) application opened on November 15 and will close on January 20, 2020. Rising 9th, 10th, and 11th grade Kentucky teens are eligible to apply. This program is growing every year and many of the scholarships offered are quite substantial, even full tuition! This year, students may apply only as an individual with skills and talents for a team. For the application or more information, visit www.kentuckyGSE.com. BEZOS SCHOLARS PROGRAM: The Bezos Scholars Program is a year-long leadership program that amplifies youth voice and action Engage with global leaders on an all-expenses paid trip to the Aspen Ideas Festival. Juniors can apply to become a Bezos Scholar at: https://bezosscholars.org by January 31, 2020.
FINAL EXAM SCHEDULE: Final Exams will be the last 4 days of the semester, December 17th through December 20th. Students will have 2 exams per day and still have their other 2 classes each day and will be on an alternate lunch schedule.
