    The General’s Archery team competed in Richmond this past weekend at the Model Laboratory School State Qualifier. The team placed second overall, shooting a 3303 and improving their state ranking from 27th to 21st and their national ranking from 70th to 50th.Jacob Doctrow placed 1st in the HS boys division and was the overall top shooter of the tournament. Emma Creelman finished 3rd in HS girls. Other top 10 finishers included Trevor Wakeland who was 5th in HS boys and Veronica Goodley who finished 9th in HS girls.The Generals look to continue their success by competing in the LCA Eagle Classic on Jan 29th.


    Lafayette theatre is proud to present GREASE this weekend- Thursday, Friday and Saturday! We will also have school shows Friday B2 and B4. You can purchase a $5 ticket for the show during all lunches Monday - Thursday. See you at the show!


    Congrats to the wrestling team for doing well this weekend in the Dragon tournament held at South Oldham. Place winners were Jasitin Kubwimana 3rd place and Brayden Giannone 1st place. Brayden was also voted the most outstanding wrestler of the tournament. Congrats to all the wrestlers that participated.


    Ms. Hendrix’s Monday ESS is canceled this week. It will be rescheduled to Thursday.


    The sixth congressional district has changed the date of their Youth Ambassador Leadership Conference.  The new date is Saturday, February 26th.  If you have applied or are interested in applying, please make a note of the new date.  You can pick up applications in the Counseling Office.


    If you're interested in joining the Varsity Esports team, tryouts will be at 430pm ONLINE on Thursday January 20th.

    And, for the first time ever, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe!

    The LHS Archery Team competed in their first tournament of the season in the Bourbon County Classic on Saturday and placed 2nd out of ten competing team. Jacob Doctrow set a new personal record and finished 2nd in the HS boys division while Emma Creelman finished 5th in the HS girls division. Other top 10 finishers included Trevor Wakeland in 7th place and Megan Wilson who finished 8th in her first ever HS tournament. Overall, 19 of the 31 archers who competed set new personal records. Their team score of 3284 ranks them 27th in the state and qualifies them for the National Archery in the Schools State tournament in Louisville in March. 


    AP & Dual Credit Night:  Interested in AP or Dual Credit courses for 2022-2023? There will be an AP & Dual Credit Night at Lafayette on Monday evening, January 24, 2022. This is a tremendous way to get first-hand information about these courses before requesting them for 2022-2023.  AP & Dual Credit Night Schedule


    The Lafayette Alumni Association, Inc. will award a $2,000 Scholarship per year to a Lafayette High School graduating senior. This Scholarship will total $8,000 over four consecutive years. The Scholarship will be awarded based on academic merit and financial need.   More details can be found on the Scholarship page on the LHS website.  Deadline to apply is April 17th.  Pick up an application in the Counseling Office.


    ACT Prep: The College Project will be offering a 5 week ACT review course beginning the first week of February and running until the March 8th ACT that all public school juniors will take during school. If your student is taking the ACT for the first time, or trying to improve their scores, our course can help.     Do you have an international culture that you would like to share? Sign up for the Lafayette High School Multicultural Fair. Create a booth, bring pictures, clothes, food, or any other cultural item and show off the beauty of your country. Talk to Mr. Mitsumori in room 205 and complete our google form to confirm your spot with the country you’d like to represent. Please sign up by January 31st 2022.
