    FALL BALL: Anyone interested in playing fall baseball needs to stop by Mr. Boggs's room 134 to pick up the sign up forms.   


    STEP TEAM TRYOUTS: Step Team tryouts began August 21st and continues today (8/22). Anyone who turned in a permission slip should come today and continue to come on Wednesdays and Thursdays for pre-tryout practices. Questions? See Coach Mackey in Room 139A.


    ACADEMIC TEAM MEETING: The Academic Team will host an informational meeting after school on Thursday, August 22nd in Room 107A. All students interested in joining are welcome! Questions? See Mr. Griffith in Room 107A or Mr. Bernhard for details.


    TABLETOP RPG CLUB: The Tabletop RPG Club will have its first meeting next Monday, August 26th, after school in Room 260. Stop by 260 anytime this week if you need more information.


    CHESS CLUB MEETING: All students interested in joining the Chess Club should plan on attending an after-school meeting next Monday, August 26th in Mr. Stringer’s room - 230. For more information or questions, see Mrs. Ford in room 240 or Mr. Stringer in room 230.


    STUDENT COUNCIL APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE: Want to get involved in our student sections, DanceBlue, or help plan homecoming? Student Council applications are now available outside room 263 in the science department. They are due Tuesday, August 27th by 3:30. If you have any questions about joining Student Council, see Ms. Schwab!


    VIDEO GAME CLUB MEETING: The video game club will meet after school next Wednesday, August 28th in Room 230. All interested students are invited to attend! For more information see Mr. Griffith in room 107A or Mr. Stringer in Room 230.


    E-SPORTS TEAM MEETING: All students interested in joining the e-sports team should plan on attending an informational meeting after school next Thursday, August 29th in room 107A. For more information, see Mr. Stringer in Room 230 or Mr. Griffith in  room 107A.


    FCCLA MEETING: FCCLA will meet next Thursday, August 29, from 3:30 to 4:30 in room 130.  Snacks will be provided!


    LHS STUDENT BOOK CLUB: The Lafayette Student Book Club will have its first meeting on Wednesday, September 4th at 7:45 AM in the Library. All students are welcome!


    LIBRARY SURVEY & PRIZE DRAWING:  Complete a KBA Summer Reading Survey and have your name entered for a prize! The survey can be accessed on the Library Media Center home page or scan the QR code in the Library Window.


    ALIVE AT 25: The next Alive at 25 class will be held at Lafayette on Wednesday, September 11th from 4:30 to 8:30 PM in Room 106. To register for the class, go to www.kentuckysafedriver.com. This is the FREE 4-hour required defensive driving program for your graduated license.


    GIRLS MENTORING PROGRAM APPLICATIONS: The YSC is looking for mentors for the GIRLS program. Any ladies who are interested in mentoring Picadome Elementary Girls on the Run students are invited to join GIRLS. All that is needed is a good attitude and a pair of sneakers. Stop by the YSC for an application!

    PSAT INFORMATION FOR LAFAYETTE JUNIORS/SOPHOMORES: Juniors & Sophomores have the option to take the PSAT Exam on Wednesday morning, October 16th at Lafayette.  Sophomores can take for FREE. Juniors who have not taken the PSAT and plan to apply for the Governor's Scholars Program must take this test.  Cost is $25.  Online registration begins August 19th and ends September 6th.  Please register online at: www.totalregistration.net/PSAT/181430

    PSAT 8/9 INFORMATION FOR LAFAYETTE FRESHMEN: Freshmen have the option to take the PSAT 8/9 Exam for free on Wednesday, October 16th at Lafayette.  The PSAT 8/9 tests the same skills and knowledge as the SAT, PSAT/NMSQT, and PSAT 10—in a way that makes sense for eighth and ninth graders.     THE COLLEGE PROJECT ACT REVIEW COURSE: ACT review course begins the week of September 25th and runs for 5 weeks prior to the October 26th ACT. Whether you're unhappy with your current score or taking the test for the first time, our experienced professionals can help you achieve your goals.
