"Lafayette Mu Alpha Theta has opened their applications for the school year! The organization, which usually consists of around 130 students, has been involved with tutoring students throughout the school over the past several years, and much more in the community. If interested, please fill out the application located on the Mu Alpha Theta Instagram @lhs.mualphatheta, where additional information can be found. Applications are due on September 27th at 3:15."

All members, new and old, should plan on attending."The Boys Volleyball Fall League will start the week of October 25. Any boys interested in playing need to sign-up with Mr. Stegman in room 125 or on the team website prior to starting. All participants must have an up-to-date physical turned into Mr. Stegman to participate.

Beta club will host its first meeting on Tuesday, September 14th. Those interested in joining are encouraged to attend. We will meet in the cafeteria from 3:30-4pm.
Our annual College Planning Night happening on September 13th at 6pm in the library! Parents and Students are welcome and we’ll have UK, BCTC, Transy, and others joining us!
September 20th-24th we will be having a College Application week here at Lafayette that is going to either be held in Lab 208, the library or my office (302). Details to be determined. It will be an entire week for seniors to complete college applications, scholarship applications, created FAFSA log ins and more. This is also where they can sign up for any college visit that is happening here at Lafayette.

The R.I.O.T. of the Lafayette Step Team- will begin practice and tryouts after school on Tuesday and Thursdays from 3:30 – 6:00 p.m. in the cafeteria. You must have a ride home. Transportation will not be provided.

Lexington Sister Cities Application Now Open-The student exchange applications for Lexington's four sister cities are now open for 2022. Application deadline is the first Friday of November. Please visit the link to find out about each program: https://lexingtonsistercities.org/student-exchanges
SENIOR PARKING PASSES-Attention Seniors: The results of the Senior parking pass lottery has been posted on the bulletin board next to the Library. See Mr. Johnson if you name is on the list in the cafeteria during lunch for further instructions.
GIRLS BASKETBALL-Girls basketball conditioning will begin Tuesday, September 7th from 3:45-5:15. You must have an up to date KHSAA physical. The schedule for pre-season workouts will be handed out in September 7th. Please see Coach Denton in the gym or room 144 for any questions.
BOYS BASKETBALL-Preseason workouts with the Boys Basketball Team will begin Tuesday, September 7th. You can get a schedule from Coach Mendenhall in room 240 or Coach Wilkinson in room 106. You must have an up-to-date KHSAA Physical to attend workouts.
PSAT REGISTRATION INFORMATION FOR SOPHOMORES & JUNIORS-Registration is now open until Sept. 13th. Please see registration information on Lafayette’s Website, under Guidance.
COLLEGE FAIR-The 2021 Gary R. Martin Central KY College Fair hosted by the HCHS Guidance Office/FCPS will be Monday, Oct. 4th from 6-8 pm at Rupp Arena.
ACT PREP-The College Project will be hosting a five-week ACT review course prior to the October 23rd test date. Classes will begin the week of September 20th and will be offered 3 x each week (students need only attend the one day each week that best fits their schedule). Whether you're looking to improve your scores or taking the test for the first time, this course will teach valuable test taking strategies. For more information, contact 859-619-0439.
