Welcome to the School Counselor Office!

  • I am so excited to begin my first year as the Dixie Elementary School Counselor.  While I'm new to this role, I'm certainly not new to Dixie.  I started teaching as a Special Education Teacher here in 2007.  I am thrilled to get to know more Dixie students and families and to get the opportunity to work with all of our wonderful teachers.  My role will include duties such as coordinating 504 plans, organizing KPREP testing, and leading our Student Success Team.  I will be teaching classroom guidance lessons to students K-5 throughout the school year and counsel students in small groups and one-on-one as needs arise.  I would also like to introduce Cora- the therapy dog I have trained who will be coming to work at Dixie as well!  Cora and I look forward to supporting students in their social and emotional learning and to serving Dixie in any way that we can!
