Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Julie Moore

I am Julie Moore, the Science Lab Teacher at SCAPA Bluegrass. A Lexington, KY native, I attended Glendover, SCAPA, and Math Science and Technology Center at Dunbar for my school career in FCPS. I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics from Roanoke College in Salem, VA. I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Midway College in Kentucky. I have been teaching since August 2001 when I began my teaching career as a 6th grade math teacher at BCMS. In 2013, I completed my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an endorsement as a Literacy Specialist. In 2016, I received one of 25 Ashland Teacher Achievement Awards for the state of Kentucky. In 2017, I was named the Outstanding Elementary Science Teacher for the state of Kentucky by KSTA. I taught 4th grade for nine years at The Academy, Picadome, and Wellington, and then was the STEM lab teacher at Wellington Elementary before coming to the SCAPA lab.  I love working with kids and teaching them to think and wonder about the world around them.
