Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Paula Garr

HELLO! My name is Paula Garr. I teach 7th and 8th grade math at SCAPA Bluegrass.

I received my bachelor's degree and reading certificate from University in Kentucky in Middle School Math and Science and, later, my master's degree from Georgetown College in the same concentration areas. I have two children who attended SCAPA: Abby (ballet major), a 2016 SCAPA Lafayette graduate and U.K. student, and Patrick (contemporary dance major), a 2013 SCAPA Lafayette graduate and U.K. student. My husband and I stay very busy keeping up with their performances and various community art events. We also have three westie dogs, Riley, Rosie, and Murphy, who think they rule the roost - and sometimes do. But they are awesome!

My family and I enjoy traveling every summer and spending time at home with family. Our favorite trip so far was to the Rocky Mountains in Colorado with lots of hiking and exploring. If you ever have the opportunity to travel to the Rockies, GO!!! My daughter and I traveled to 18 states across the West this summer, visiting numerous National Parks, as well as returning along the old Route 66. My family also traveled to Wisconsin to camp and visit with my sister, in addition to St. Louis to attend my son's performance in The Muny's Fiddler on the Roof. It was a summer to remember.

My hope for you in math is to realize that you can do anything with great work ethic. That means you "MUST TRY EVERYTHING AND NEVER GIVE UP". And remember, it is okay to make mistakes. In fact, it is required! I will always be there to answer questions. You truly can accomplish anything you set your mind to.

I hope you will contact me with any questions that might arise. The best way to do that is through my school email.
