Degrees and Certifications:
Mr. Whit Baker
Currently working primarily as a landscape designer, I have degrees in studio art and mathematics from Lincoln Memorial University. I live in Lexington with my partner Megan (she's a landscape designer too!) and her two boys (part-time). I love Lexington and the Bluegrass, especially hiking and fishing in Elkhorn Creek, and driving in the country listening to music.
I have studied at the Arrowmont School of Arts & Crafts, and been studio assistant to painter Andrew Saftel. In the 1990's, I did graduate work in creative writing with Lexington photographer and writer James Baker Hall. I am the past poetry editor of Wind Magazine. In 2020 I directed the film "Elbow of Light: A Film On James Baker Hall". In 2010 and 2014, I travelled to Bangladesh to help lead art and writing workshops on grants from the US State Department.
