    Lost and found

The lost and found table is outside the gym door. Please put your child’s first and last name on all their jackets, sweaters, sweatshirts, lunch bags and anything else you send to school.  It will help to make sure lost items are returned promptly.  If your child has lost something, remind them to check the lost and found table. Volunteering

Clays Mill offers a variety of opportunities for families to participate in their child's learning. Anyone interested in volunteering must register with FCPS and clear a criminal background check. You can also find out about districtwide opportunities online here.

    Parent/teacher conferences

Teachers and families are both encouraged to initiate a conference. Parents/guardians should attend at least two conferences with their child’s teacher each year.  Every effort is made to meet with families at a convenient time.  Please contact your child's teacher about scheduling.

    Response to Intervention/RTI:

    BYOD (Bring Your Own Device)

Our district encourages students to use their own devices for educational purposes in school. Students who demonstrate good digital citizenship and have a signed AUP (Acceptable Use Policy) on file may be allowed to connect their personally owned devices to the district network.  Such access will be monitored and will require students to log in using their district credentials.  However, families are responsible for all service and support of personal devices.  The district is not responsible for any damage or loss incurred with the use of a personal device in the school setting.  Students are expected to use devices for educational purposes and only with the consent of school staff. Although the use of devices on the district network is monitored, parents/guardians of minors are responsible for setting and conveying the standards that their children should follow when using media and information sources. Families are also responsible for what students may access through any non-district wi-fi or cellular connection.

    Wellness Wednesdays

On the third Wednesday of each month, students and teachers wear comfortable exercise/active wear/sports clothing to school. Students participate in various movement activites, games, and exercises with emphasis on learning about living healthy and active lifestyles.
