Mission Statement

  • The mission of Winburn Middle School, through a partnership of students, families, staff, and community, is to ensure that every student has the skills to build a strong social and academic foundation, in order to transition into a successful high school student and responsible member of the community. This mission is accomplished by providing a challenging, standards-based curriculum that meets the individual needs and is delivered in a safe environment by a dedicated nurturing staff.

About the School

  • Winburn Middle School is home to a uniquely diverse population of students. Our student body truly reflects our global society with a wide variety of cultures. As home to one of Fayette County’s gifted and talented programs, we are honored that students choose to come to Winburn from around the county. Our Warrior Code or commitment to one another assists us in achieving our mission of respecting, protecting, and providing a college- and career-ready education for our students each day.

You can find out more about our gifted and talented program by visiting their Winburn Centurion Google Site.

    Principal's Quote

We are the best kept secret in the state of Kentucky! We are nestled on the edge of Martin Luther King Park in North Lexington but operate as Kentucky's little United Nations.  We have students from 10 or more countries, speaking multiple languages, coming from a variety of backgrounds, yet we all join together as family at Winburn.  Diveristy is our strength and allows us to welcome students at any achievement level and individualize their academic journey to maximize achievement.  Once a Warrior, Always a Warrior!"
