Shelley Chatfield, general counsel for Fayette County Public Schools, provides legal support and guidance for any applicable issues in the district. She also works directly with the school district's Law Enforcement division, the compliance officer, and the Section 504 coordinator.
Open records requests
Note: During COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, there might be a delay in responding to requests under the Kentucky Open Records Act. FCPS will process requests as soon as possible given the state of emergency announced by the governor. Thank you for your patience during this unprecedented time.
FCPS accepts all open records requests submitted via:
- Fax to (859) 381-4149
- Mail to FCPS Compliance Officer Lindsay Wright, 1126 Russell Cave Rd., Lexington KY 40505
- Hand delivery to Room 112 at central office, 701 E. Main St., Lexington. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Please include your name, mailing address, and a description of the records requested, plus your email address and phone number or other preferred means of contact. FCPS will issue a written response within three business days of receipt, excluding weekends and holidays. For nonwritten records such as USB flash drives, discs, etc., a fee equivalent to the actual cost of production shall be charged. For paper copies, the cost is $0.10 per page.
