Mrs. Beth Barnott
My name is Beth Barnott and I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago. I received my Bachelors of Education at the University of Kentucky and my Masters at Georgetown College. This is my 27th year teaching in which I spent 6 years at Elkhorn Elementary in Frankfort, 13 years at Dunbar High School, and the past 7 at Locust Trace. I have worked with all grade levels, K-12, and my areas of expertise are math and differentiating instruction for students to meet a variety of learning styles. I am married to John Barnott, have a 11 year-old son named Jake, a golden retriever named Mason, and a shih-tzu named Snoopy. Both of my dogs love to come to school with me and help students get through their day.
I am a Student Support Teacher at Locust Trace. My main goal is to help all students to become more independent learners. The students will see me working with both their teachers and fellow classmates throughout the entire building. I work with teachers on classroom management, building relations, adapting instruction and often suggest alternative instructional strategies. When working with students, I may be targeting attendance, teaching study skills or test taking skills, differentiating instruction for diverse learners, providing accommodations, working on improving behavior or social skills, developing organizational strategies or simply just saying hello.
