Marlon Ball, Principal
Originally from Tampa, Florida, Mr. Ball joins the Dunbar family with the intention of cultivating an inclusive environment, where every student feels empowered to develop intellectually and reach their full potential. His background and experience have given him a unique ability to empathize with and develop students who come from underserved communities.
He began his career as a social studies teacher at an alternative school and progressed into teaching advanced placement (AP) courses in a more traditional setting. After five years in the classroom, Mr. Ball moved into administration as the Assistant Principal for Student Affairs at Aspira Middle School in North Miami, Florida. By 2017, he became the administrator for curriculum with Dubai International School within the United Arab Emirates nation. Most recently, he served as an Assistant Principal at Samuel Wolfson High School for Advanced Studies in Jacksonville, Florida.
Marlon holds a bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Florida and a master’s degree in educational leadership from Nova Southeastern University. In his spare time, Mr. Ball enjoys watching Gator football on Saturdays, fishing, and spending time with family/friends.
