NTI / 2DL
Non-Traditional Instruction / Differentiated Distance Learning
NTI refers to Non-Traditional Instruction, or distance learning online. The Fayette County Board of Education voted unanimously to implement “NTI/2DL: Differentiated Distance Learning” in 2020-21 amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The district's reopening task force did extensive work to ensure that the second round of NTI is more engaging, more robust, and consistently implemented across schools at all grade levels. In addition, Fayette County Public Schools purchased a shared online curriculum, selected a consistent virtual learning platform, and invested in 1:1 technology districtwide. Please check your school's website and watch for direct communications from your children's schools with details.
The district offers families assistance with their child's FCPS email account and Chromebook. The Student Tech Support line, (859) 381-4410, is open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Translators are available.
FCPS continues to offer hotspots to families without internet access at home in order to allow every student to access the digital resources that are critical to helping each student achieve academically. Hotspots are distributed through the Family Resource and Youth Service Centers, and each hotspot can support multiple students in a family. If your family does not have internet access at home, please call the child’s school.
