    Academic Team 

    Description: Try-outs are in August.  Students compete at multiple levels in categories of Quick Recall, Future Problem-Solving, Written Assessment, and Composition.  Content Areas are Math, Science, Language Arts, and Arts/Humanities.  There are a 6th grade, Junior Varsity and Varsity teams.

    Art Club 

    Description: Students in Art Club will be given the opportunity to work with students from Dunbar HS be part of the Bluegrass Youth Arts program.  The art work created each year fits a new theme decided by the Dunbar students.  The students will help club members grow artistically.

    Chess Club 

    Description: Come learn to play chess or improve your game with friendly competition.

    Community Leaders Program 

    Description: CLP builds leadership opportunities through implementation of community service projects and two leadership camp experiences each year.

    Creative Writing Club 

    Description: Students work with high school mentors to improve their writing.  Each meeting, members learn about a specific aspect of writing, analyze related literary works, and write original pieces.

    Girls on the Run 

    Description: Girls on the Run encourages young ladies to feel empowered and stay active through its fun and engaging practices. Team members will train during the season and end with a 5k run held at Keeneland.

    Kentucky Junior Historical Society 

    Description: NJHS recognizes outstanding middle level students. More than just an honor roll, NJHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, Character, and Citizenship.

    Math Counts

    Description: MathCOUNTS is a rigorous problem-solving completion.  Students prepare in weekly practices for competition in the spring.

    RCX Robotics Club

    Description: Robotics Club is a STEM program where kids have fun at the same time, expand their knowledge of math and science through a challenging robotics competition.

    Y-Club (KYA and KUNA)

    Description: Y-Club promotes social responsibility , civic engagement, service learning, and leadership development through two experiential learning conferences.—KY Youth Assembly (KYA) and KY United Nations Assembly (KUNA).  The cost is $10 to join which is applied toward your conference fee.

    Yearbook 

    Description: The Yearbook Club meets throughout the school year to put together the  yearbook.  Students meet to decide page layouts and formats, photographs to be used, etc.
