• NTI = Non-Traditional Instruction

Our staff is preparing lessons for distance learning while students are away from school. Your child's teacher(s) will be in touch with specific instructions.

    Good morning, Families!

The first Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) days are approaching quickly. Our teachers and staff have worked very hard gathering instructional materials for children to complete during April 6 - April 17. Now that Governor Beshear ordered schools to be out until at least May 4, you can expect NTI days again from April 20 - May 1. We will distribute those materials at a later date so don't worry about the additional days right now.

If you have not watched the short video from Ms. McLaughlin on Class Dojo, try to do so today. There are TWO materials pick up dates and you only need to come to ONE. If you cannot come on a Sunday to pick up, come Monday (see below). If you cannot come to either of the pick ups, let your child's teacher know right away and we will make arrangements to get materials to you. Every child MUST have an NTI packet - participation is mandatory. NTI materials will be handed out as follows:

Sunday, April 5  10am - 2pm (see below for your assigned time)

    10am-11am Last Name  A - E

    11am-12pm Last Name F-M

    12pm-1pm Last Name N-S

    1pm-2pm Last Name T-Z

    Monday, April 6   4pm - 6pm

    4pm-5pm   A-M

    5pm-6pm   N-Z

Please use the time assigned to your last name to help with traffic control and efficient delivery of materials. If you have children with different last names just come ONCE.

If you walk to school to pick up materials, please wait on the sidewalk and stand at least 6 feet from the person closest to you. Staff members will assist you just like families in cars. Staff members most likely will wear masks / scarves and gloves in an effort to follow all safety protocols.

Students in 2nd through 5th grade May check out a chromebook to use at home during NTI. Parents must sign a waiver promising to take good care of the device while not at school.  The waiver will be sent in a separate email later today.  The waiver is available in English, Spanish, and Arabic. If possible please print the  waiver and sign it before coming to pick up materials. If you cannot print we will have blank copies for you to sign.

This email will not be the last so check back regularly - especially for the waiver for chromebooks. Please check Class Dojo at least 2 x a day for school updates and classroom updates. We miss every family and all the children during these challenging times. We are committed to doing everything we can to keep your children learning and engaged as we navigate our new normal. We appreciate you patience and support. We will get through this together.
