What is CANVAS:
Designed specifically for K-12 teachers and students, Canvas is an easy-to-use, cloud-based learning management system (LMS) that connects all the digital tools and resources teachers use into one simple and secure on-line location.
Using the Canvas link on the MMS webpage, students use their FCPS email and password to log into their Canvas accounts. These are the same credentials as if they are logging onto a computer or Chromebook at school.
Yes. Parents can create an account and become an "Observer" of their child's Canvas course(s). Please click here to see the video on how to create an account and log onto Canvas.
What is the URL for logging onto CANVAS?
The URL is: https://fcps.instructure.com/
If the course is not appearing in Canvas, the teacher of that course has not published the course for posting on the web.
Can I log in as a Parent into Canvas?
Yes. You can log into Canvas as an "Observer" by using your student's credentials. Details on how to do so can be found here: https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-10913
What if I need technology support?
We are fortunate that the district is setting up a temporary helpdesk to call for any family needing technical support with a student’s FCPS account or Chromebook. The Tech Support number is 381-4410. Someone will be available to talk to you Monday – Friday from 8 am to 8 pm.
