I am a native of Bracken County in the northern part of Kentucky.  I was blessed to grow up as the third generation of my mom’s family farm.  My youth was spent working in my family’s tobacco and hay crops and traveling this beautiful country showing Angus cattle.  After graduating from Bracken County High School, I attended the University of Kentucky majoring in Agriculture Education, which a minor in Plant and Soil Science.  Because I had earned dual credits while still in high school, I was able to graduate in December after only 3 ½ years at UK. There happened to be one agriculture teacher posting that was open in the middle of the school year and I was fortunate enough to be hired at Garrard County High School.  Lancaster, KY was a bit far from home for me, so when Campbell County High School reopened their agriculture program after it being closed for 5 years, I was able to move closer to home and build a new program from the ground up. I spent 5 years at Campbell County High School, it became difficult to work so far from where I lived in Harrison County, so I accepted one of the positions as an agriculture teacher at Harrison County High School.  I taught at Harrison County High School for 7 years. During that time, I worked on my Instructional Leadership Certification through EKU and then accepted the principal’s position at Harrison County ATC. During my 6 years of being a building principal, I really missed being able to build relationships with students and parents. When the position here at Locust Trace opened up, I thought it was the most awesome opportunity to get back to the whole reason I decided to go into agriculture education in the first place and that was to help make a positive difference in the lives of students. 

While I’m not at school, you can find me at our farm, Stillwater Farm and Arena, in Cynthiana with my husband, Clinton, and our three children, Madison, Colton and Anna.  We have just finished construction on our indoor arena where we train and sell gaited pleasure horses along with conducting group and one on one natural horsemanship clinics and lessons for our clients. When I’m not in the barn, you can find me horseback riding or crafting!
