Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Alana Bentley

I'm Alana Bentley, the agriculture teacher at Jessie Clark Middle School. I grew up in West Virginia, but I quickly found my home in Anderson County, KY, 10 years ago. I began riding horses when I was nine and continued into college. As a matter of fact, my first job was on a farm working with horses!  I now raise American Guinea hogs in a partnership with my dad.

I met my lovely husband in high school, so I guess you could say we are high school sweethearts. We have 4 precious fur kids: Zoey and Ace, the Miniature Schnauzers; and Spooky and Abby, the Great Danes. We are also the owners of a very spunky and opinionated Sun Conure named Gilligan as well as a rat named Lilly. We like to spend our off days binge watching Netflix, hiking, cuddling with the fur kids, and doing DIY projects around the house.

I graduated from Morehead State University in 2018 with my Bachelor of Science degree in agriculture education. I have found a passion for middle schoolers, and my goal in the classroom is to help guide them to become educated consumers and know where their food comes from.

I'm very excited to be part of the Locust Trace and Jessie Clark teams this year!
