Ms. Katie Beeler
My name is Katie Beeler and I am excited to start teaching PE and Health at Locust Trace!
Throughout my life I have been influenced tremendously by agriculture and the people involved in it. I learned so much about character and work ethic from two of my favorite farmers, Charlie and Warren Beeler (who just so happen to be my dad and uncle respectively). I love the idea of a school that can instill these values to kids all over Lexington!
I grew up in Grayson County and attended Asbury University to get my degree in P-12 Health and Physical Education. I began my teaching career working between two schools in Lincoln County where I met some AMAZING kids and teachers. I also really enjoyed coaching track, cross country, and archery, as well as volunteering at my church’s kids program, God’s Powerhouse.
I am excited to meet my new students at Locust Trace. Growing up, I couldn’t stand sitting at a desk all day long, so I strive to create PE and health classes that are as active and student led as possible. My goal is to create a safe class environment for ALL of my students to find methods to improve and maintain their personal physical, social, and emotional health. Not everyone enjoys sports as much as I do, but every student can find lifetime wellness activities that they enjoy—that is the mission!
