Mr. Adan Henriquez

I am native of San Salvador, El Salvador. I have been teaching English and Spanish for twenty-three years. I taught English at a private school in El Salvador for six years. In 2002 I moved to North Carolina where I taught Spanish and also served as an assistant coach for the boys and girls soccer teams. In 2003 I was hired as a Spanish teacher for the Spanish Immersion Program at Bryan Station Middle School in Lexington, KY. I taught at BSMS for sixteen years. During that time, I was also the 8th grade trip coordinator to Costa Rica for ten years and served as teacher chaperone for eight trips. In addition I organized an e-pal program with students from El Salvador, Spain, and Costa Rica. I am a part-time instructor for the Barren Academy of Virtual and Expanded Learning where I have taught Spanish I and Spanish II online to high school students from different parts of KY since 2014.

My wife, Karla, and I have a daughter, Luciana. In my free time I love to watch soccer games; I follow the Spanish League and I am a big fan of FC Barcelona. I also love to travel, particularly to Spanish speaking countries.

I am thrilled to be part of the Locust Trace Agriscience Center staff, teaching Spanish with an emphasis on agriculture. I also look forward to sharing a little bit of my culture with my students.
