Foster and instill a culture of unity, belonging, and student efficacy across the district and address opportunity gaps.

What We Will Do

Implement integrated accountability systems to measure, report, evaluate, and monitor unity, belonging, and student efficacy throughout the organization.
Ensure unity, belonging, and efficacy for all students through holistic approaches that create a supportive and welcoming learning environment that meets their individual needs.
Address systemic barriers and opportunities specific to the impact of policy on historically marginalized students.

How We Will Do It

Clearly define the unity, belonging, and student efficacy initiatives managed by the district and use data to assess and report on their effectiveness.
Implement Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) with fidelity in all classrooms.
Monitor the continued implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) structures in every school.
Develop and implement across all schools a comprehensive and integrated approach to addressing the social-emotional, mental health, and other needs of students and staff.
Implement a process to ensure students see themselves represented in instructional materials.
Provide training, resources, and ongoing support for all staff to improve their capacity to effectively support the success of students from all backgrounds.
Evaluate board policies and administrative procedures to identify unintended consequences that serve as barriers to fostering equity across the district.
Develop and adopt an equity policy that fosters inclusion and success for students from historically marginalized groups.
Establish and evaluate implementation of alternatives to suspension.
Expand student access to counselors, social workers, mental health professionals, and psychologists at schools.
Improve preparation for and expand access to rigorous instruction –- including, but not limited to Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, and dual credit classes -– for students from historically marginalized groups.
Ensure that enrollment in special and magnet programs reflects the diversity of the district.
Include key measures of progress in areas of unity, belonging, and student efficacy in district scorecard data.
Identify a Unity, Belonging, and Student Efficacy lead in each school and district-level department.
