                 Friday, November 9 from 8:00-12:00 PM

     

    Where: Rosa Parks Library!

     

    Who: ANYONE can come and shop! Classes will be coming at specific times. Book Fair Class Schedule

     

    FAMILY NIGHT is Monday, November 5 from 4:00-7:00! Please come and shop, purchase  pizza in the cafeteria, and go dancing in the gym!

  • Coffee and Conversation Workshop Series

     

    Keeping Kids Safe Online: Tips for Internet Safety


    Even if you are not a Facebook fan, becoming familiar with the tools and social media platforms that your children are using is a necessity in helping to keep our children safe online. Please join us as we hear from Detective Anthony Young with the Lexington Police Department Special Victims Unit / Internet Crimes Against Children unit. Detective Young will discuss how to protect children from online predators, cyberbullying and sexting.

  • Rosa Parks Boosterthon!

     

    The Boosterthon Fun Run is almost here!  Our kickoff will be Tuesday, October 16, but pledging begins now!  Visit www.funrun.com to pledge.  More information will be coming home with your student.  

     

    Our school goal is to raise $25,000 for Chromebooks.  

     

    • If we meet the schools goal of $25,000, Mrs. Barrow will get slimed

    • Top Pledger will get to be Principal for a day

    • Top Classroom will receive pizza, ice cream, and a dance party

     

    Pledging will be done ONLY online - no cash or checks will be accepted.  

     

    The FUN RUN will be on Thursday, October 25.  Parents are welcome to attend!

  • North Carolina Hurricane Relief Fund

     

    Swansboro, NC was one of the many towns along the coast that was damaged by Hurricane Florence.  Schools are still not in session.  Here at RPE we love to help others, so we are going to be collecting school supplies to send.  Below is a list of supplies that are needed.  The collection boxes are in the front lobby.  You can visit the school district's website to read and see more about the damage.

  • Rosa Parks International Night

     

    Our annual International Night is scheduled for January 31, 2019.  Please see the letter HERE if you are interested in volunteering and return by October 3.  A paper copy of the letter is also going home with each student.  Contact Mrs. Adkins with any questions.  

     

    The first International Night Organizational Parent meeting will be on October 18th at 5:30 in the RPE library.  Childcare will not be provided.

  • PTA Reflections Contest

     

    This year’s theme isHeroes Around Me.” 

    Participating students are asked to submit an original work that reflects this year’s theme using one of the seven categories listed below.  Rules for each category along with student entry forms and general rules are provided at http://kypta.org/programs/reflections
