Mr. Spaeth is entering his thirteenth year teaching 7^th and 8^th grade social studies at SCAPA.  During that time, he has advised groups for Kentucky Youth Assembly, Kentucky United Nations Assembly, national grand-prize winners in C-SPAN’s StudentCam video competition and two first place winners in the Kentucky STLP documentary video competition.  He is also the co-sponsor of SCAPA's student council. 

Before SCAPA, Mr. Spaeth taught for five years in Arizona and worked for two years in his home state of Illinois as a paraeducator. He has coached football and basketball at the middle school and high school levels and previously worked as a tutor for the Clemson University athletic department.  In his free time, Mr. Spaeth likes to play and watch basketball, go hiking, and watch movies.  He is looking forward to working with a new group of 7^th graders and finding out what his 8^th graders have in store for him this year.
