Cinematography & Video Production
Students enrolled in Eastside’ s Cinematography & Video Production program are learning what it takes to be successful in today’s faced paced multi-media world. There are more choices than ever to access news and information. Our students are learning it all: reporting and anchoring for TV, videography, editing, behind the scenes news production, podcasting, blogging, composing original music for newscasts, and storytelling through digital photography. Eastside students have access to the most up to date equipment. They will learn to use the same editing software academy award winning blockbusters are edited with. Our students have the creative freedom to explore storytelling and turn their vision into multi-media masterpieces.
Students interested in pursuing careers in the multimedia industry should also take courses in writing, speech, and computer science. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, most employers in this industry prefer individuals with experience gained at school broadcasting stations and newspapers.

Digital Design & Game Development
This course provides a broad and in-depth approach to computer programming through game design. Using comprehensive theory and hands on experiences students will gain the skills and knowledge required for the entire development process of the computer gaming process from concept to completion. Students will become proficient with such gaming programs as Alice, KODU, Scratch, Unity, RPG Maker, and Gamemaker.
Students interested in becoming computer gaming programmers will gain a solid foundation of knowledge at Eastside before enrolling in a post-secondary program. Strong written communication and math skills are essential in this field.
High school students interested in these courses should also take courses in algebra and computer science.
