I am ever thankful for having the opportunity to serve such wonderful families and a partnership with Central Kentucky Riding for Hope. Working side by side with community partners who believe and focus on fostering the confidence and unlocking the potential in our school families is such a unique gift.

I began my educational journey at a very young age in Harlan, Kentucky. My background was a rich experience of friends, families, and a community that supported education and families.  These early experiences with my parents and teachers instilled the importance of education, and I am so thankful for my small community upbringing. My educational career, which spans two districts, has been blessed by an array of brilliant colleagues and unique students and families that have taught me so much about being a better teacher and leader. My experience has included teaching special education and general education at the high school level, high school guidance counseling, and now program director at the Stables.

The Stables meets the needs of our diverse students through project-based learning and personalized digital learning. Our partnership with The Summit also gives students the opportunity to soar with individual learning that creates confident and successful learners.  The students experience real-life work through our partnership with CKRH as they learn about the equine industry in a career setting, side by side with volunteers.  The impact of our community partnership is phenomenal. I am humbled each day by the accomplishments of our students and teachers. The staff’s focus and drive to assist our young people in achieving their dreams creates a culture of expectations for personal growth.

As your servant leader, it is my goal to work with families, staff, and community partners to stay on a trajectory of building and maintaining a platform of learning for students to take advantage of the opportunities before them. Those opportunities are endless and attainable for students who are confident in themselves and believe in possibilities no matter the obstacles.
