Mrs. Coker

Mrs. Coker has been teaching at ACE for 10 years, making the 2020-2021 school year her 11th.  She taught 4th grade for 7 years, and this will be her fourth year teaching 5th grade.   What she loves most about ACE are the people; students, parents, staff and administrators make her proud to be an Eagle.  

Mrs. Coker has a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and Criminal Justice with a minor in social studies and political science from Eastern New Mexico University. She did her graduate work at the University of the Cumberlands where she received a Master of Arts in Teaching with an Emphasis in Elementary Education.  Teaching is a second career for Mrs. Coker; she spent 15 years working in politics.  She began her career working on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C..  After that she worked in the lobbying industry, supporting lobbyists with ethics compliance both in Washington, DC and Frankfort, KY.  Mrs. Coker has been married for 17 years and has a 16 year old daughter who attended ACE from Kindergarten to 5th grade and is now a Junior in high school.   Mrs. Coker is originally from New Mexico, but has called Kentucky home for 18 years.
